This motel is located in a quaint small town in the center of Delaware County in a highly visible location on a state highway. Several seasonal events, such as hunting season, the county fair and college orientations and parents’ weekends, attract many visitors to the area. The town itself has much to offer, including an authentic covered bridge and riverside park, the Delaware River for fishing, wading, swimming, tubing, and canoeing, an antique shop, general store, farm store, ballpark and waterfalls. The motel allows us to experience a little piece of Americana with its historic neon signs. This motel features a total of eight lodging rooms. Four of these are double-room suites that have a bedroom, extra room for office or sitting area and a large closet. Each single room contains a full bathroom and smaller closet area. Two of the double rooms each contain a door between it and a single room, for more lodging options. The motel office connects to a storage/laundry room and an apartment with bedroom, kitchen, full and half bathrooms, and living area. The living area is large and sliding glass doors open out to the back, exposing a peaceful valley view. The motel operates on its own septic and well, but municipal water is available and a municipal sewer is planned to be in place by 2009. With a bit of tender loving care, this motel could gain its vibrancy once again.
